Sunset Cruise Detroit: Best Times by Month
Many of our passengers prefer to time their cruises so they enjoy the golden hour on the water. Here’s a guideline to the best times to catch the sunset in 2026 on the Detroit River by month
1. May: Sunsets occur close to 8:55 or 9:00 p.m. by the end of the month.
2. June: In early June sunsets are at 9:05-9:08 p.m., by mid-to-late-June 9:13 p.m.
3. July: Early July 9:05-9:10 p.m.; mid-month 9:00-9:05 p.m., end of month 8:45 p.m.
4. August: Sunset times will decrease over the month from roughly 8:46 p.m. to 7:51 p.m.
5. September: Sept 1, 8:06 p.m.; Sept 15, 7:41 p.m.; Sept 31, 7:16 p.m.
What: Detroit’s only private electric power boat cruise.
Where: Stanton Yards, near downtown Detroit
When: 7 days a week Memorial wknd through September, 10 am til shortly past sunset
How Much: starting at $275 for 75 minutes, up to $800 for four hours
Who: Up to 6 guests, or up to 12 or 18 with two or three boats in tandem
